Keycards and Credentials

Magstripe Keycards

Onity offers both the HiCo (high coercivity) and the LoCo (low coercivity) magstripe keycards. Both cards are read when “swiped” by a magstripe card reader. HiCo requires a much stronger magnetic energy to encode the keycard making it harder to erase.

RFID Keycards and Credentials

Onity also offers RFID (radio frequency identification) keycards and various credentials. Because RFID communicates with radio waves, different credentials can act as keys, including keyfobs, wristbands and other devices. Entry for your guests is much quicker and more efficient than magnetic keycards because RFID keycards and credentials do not have to be swiped. In addition to being easier to use for your guests, RFID keycards and credentials are more reliable than magstripe keycards. Unlike magstripe, RFID cannot become demagnetized, so guests will not have to replace their keycards as often.
